THAMES FCFUTSAL

Fast. Fun.
More touches.

Futsal is a quick, exciting version of football with five players on court for each team, giving every player more time on the ball and more involvement in the game.

JUNIOR & SENIOR FUTSAL

Keep playing all year.

Thames FC runs futsal during Term 1 and Term 4. Junior players register individually and we form teams before the season starts, while senior teams register together as a full team.

FORMAT5-a-side

Five players from each team are on court, creating more touches and more involvement.

GAME LENGTH25 minutes

Each match runs for 25 minutes with a two-minute break in the middle.

SEASONSTerm 1 & Term 4

Junior and senior futsal give players another way to keep playing outside the winter season.

FOOTWEARNon-marking shoes

No uniform is required for juniors, but non-marking shoes are essential to protect the gym floor.

JUNIOR FUTSAL · FRIDAY NIGHTS

School-year groups

Junior futsal runs from 23 October to 18 December at the Jack McLean Centre, Rolleston Street, Thames. It is grouped by school year rather than age. Parents register their child individually and Thames FC creates the teams at the start of each season.

How registration works

Parents register each child individually. Once registrations close, Thames FC places players into teams for the season.

What players need

Uniforms are optional and bibs will be supplied. Players do need suitable non-marking shoes so the gym floor is protected.

Friday night format

Junior futsal runs from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, with each school-year group allocated its own one-hour window.

Why futsal?

Smaller teams and a fast court game mean more touches of the ball, quick decisions and plenty of involvement for every player.
